More cost effective than airfreight, more time effective than seafreight Sea/air transportation had its heyday in the 1980's. At that time the idea was to reduce transit time while avoiding the high costs of direct airfreight for shipments between Asia and Europe. Today sea/air services are experiencing a revival. The German economy is looking for cheaper ways of transporting shipments without losing the benefits of airfreight and its short transportation times. The sea/air service is an ideal solution, offering shipments twice as fast as pure seafreight at up to half the cost of regular airfreight.
